Studio Update: Affinity updates, comics, scanner art

I purchased the updated Affinity apps this week and have spent a lot of time in Publisher specifically. I was procrastinating on creating a file for issue 5 of the zine, and this update gave me the motivation to finally do it. I am absolutely over the moon excited that they finally released a publisher app for iPad. It is going to be so much easier for me to access the zine on the go.

This week I was trying to focus on the comic for issue 5, and I made a decent amount of progress. I'm fairly certain I have most, if not all, of the sketches that I need and have moved on to the inking process. I am still working on figuring out the overall layout; I keep bouncing between a couple different options. I'm not quite 100% happy with any of them, but I think I'm just being picky at this point.

Overall, I'm super happy with how the visuals for the zine are turning out. I was originally kind of worried about the color scheme I picked, but it has grown on me. I also got to create a ton of scanner art for this issue, and I just had a lot of fun doing it. I find myself really drawn to processes that involve experimentation, and the scanner allows me to experiment in many different ways across a short span of time. Here are some of the scans that didn't make it into the zines.
